19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with former mentor Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive win over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden title after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children together, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on court had led commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an improved service.
He came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour title, took control to push for a third set.
Moutet defended 4 initial opportunities in a close third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
